Variety description

10 August 2026

The Hummer variety belongs to early-maturing types with early panicle emergence. The plant forms dense turf and is characterized by a soft leaf texture, which increases palatability for livestock. In the breeding of the variety, emphasis was placed on improving the stand structure compared to traditional coarse forms of the crop.

The plant possesses a deep root system, ensuring high drought tolerance and heat resistance. The variety is adapted to various soil types, including heavy, moist, and moderately saline soils, and is also capable of tolerating short-term flooding. The variety may contain endophytes to increase resistance to pests.
