The Greenwave variety is the first taxonomically true tetraploid variety of sheep's fescue. Due to the doubled chromosome set, the plant is characterized by rapid germination with an extremely slow subsequent growth rate, which allows for a significant reduction in lawn maintenance costs.
The plant possesses increased resistance to heat and drought, is capable of developing in poor soils and forms a dense sward. The variety is intended for creating low-maintenance lawns, landscaping of shaded areas and natural landscapes, and can be used as a monoculture or in grass mixtures.
