The variety Lipusta is classified as the species Festuca valesiaca, although in a number of catalogs it is mistakenly mentioned in the list of Festuca ovina L. The registration of the variety expired at the end of 2007.
The plants were used primarily in mixtures for the landscaping of particularly dry and pioneer sites, such as roadsides. Due to the lack of regular mowing under these conditions, the plants of the variety usually reached the flowering and seed maturation stage. Detailed agronomic characteristics of the variety were not recorded.
