The variety belongs to the species Festuca ovina L., although in some classifications it may be assigned to the group Festuca ovina ssp. duriuscula (hard fescue). The plant is distinguished by relatively slow growth and medium rates of panicle emergence.
The variety possesses resistance to a number of common lawn grass diseases, including leaf spot, rust, and red thread. It is intended exclusively for lawn use and the formation of a stable grass stand, and is not a forage crop.
