Variety description

10 August 2026

The Benfesta variety is used in grass mixtures for agricultural purposes, including the creation of hayfields and pastures. In a number of countries, the variety is used as a standard when conducting comparative trials of the productivity of other meadow fescue varieties.

The plant possesses resistance to certain fungal diseases; in particular, the degree of its infestation by DTR has been studied. Like the species as a whole, this variety is a perennial tall loose-bunch grass. Detailed data on exact morphological traits or agronomic characteristics are absent in open publications.
