The variety was bred in the 1960s from the initial material Steinacher Wiesenschwingel. During the breeding process, work was carried out to reduce seed shattering at maturity, which simplified seed production processes.
The plant is a perennial, bunch-type, tall-growing grass. The variety is intended for forage purposes, possesses medium winter hardiness, tolerates spring flooding well, and is characterized by rapid regrowth after mowing and high nutritional value.
Materials of this variety were used by breeders as a basis for creating other meadow fescue varieties, including Fesko, Cosmolit and Cosmopolitan.
