The variety is intended for use in grass mixtures for hayfields and pastures, in particular in combination with white clover. As a representative of the species, the plant is a perennial bunchgrass adapted to the conditions of northern farming, resistant to cold, and capable of growing on various soil types.
In agricultural research, the variety has long been used as a reference standard for comparing the productivity of new breeding samples and foreign varieties in terms of green mass yield and crude protein content.
