The variety is a tetraploid (4n) and was the first representative of this group in the Swiss registry. Plants form a less dense sward compared to diploid varieties, possess soft leaves, good disease resistance, and excellent winter hardiness.
Forage value is characterized by high quality and palatability due to a higher nutrient content in the cell sap. Dry matter yield is on average 6% lower than that of the best diploid varieties, however, the high nutritional value compensates for this indicator.
The crop is intended for hayfields and pastures. The variety is recommended for use in mixtures with alfalfa, as it is less aggressive towards other components of the sward, and is well-suited for regions with sufficient summer rainfall or alpine conditions.
