The variety belongs to the subspecies Festuca rubra subsp. trichophylla, which differs from other varieties by the presence of short underground rhizomes. At the selection stage, it had the working name BAR FRT 8250.

The plant is intended for creating high-quality turf surfaces. Due to its ability to withstand intensive wear and low mowing, the variety was actively used in professional seed mixtures for sports facilities.

The variety is considered historically significant, although it is currently being replaced by more modern breeding developments of the same subspecies.
