The red fescue variety Festuca rubra named Hector appears in archival lists of variety trials and international variety registers dating back to the early 2000s. The origin of the variety is attributed to the Dutch breeding company Mommersteeg International B.V.
Currently, actual detailed plant characteristics, such as morphological traits or disease resistance indicators, are practically absent in open publications. The variety is mainly found in documentation regarding breeding and variety trials from previous years.
