The variety is a bunch-type form and does not form long underground shoots. It has a medium growth rate and is adapted to low mowing in the range of 1 to 3 cm. In the vegetative state, the variety is considered low-growing, forming a dense and fine-leaved turf.
Joanna is characterized by high resistance to trampling and medium drought tolerance. The variety is intended for use on sports grounds, golf courses, as well as in seed mixtures for landscaping. The maximum height of generative shoots in the flowering phase is 20–80 cm.
