The variety belongs to the rhizomatous subspecies Festuca rubra rubra. The plant is characterized by aggressive growth, forming a dense turf cover, and is distinguished by very fine leaves. The variety maintains a stable appearance during both summer and winter periods.

The plant possesses increased resistance to Fusarium patch. Agrotechnically, the variety is distinguished by low nutrient requirements and a reduced need for nitrogen fertilizers.

Kolossos is intended for use in turf grass mixtures. It is used for creating high-quality lawns, as well as sports and landscape areas.
