The variety belongs to the subspecies Festuca rubra ssp. commutata, known as Chewings fescue. The crop is specifically used in grass mixtures for creating lawns, including in areas with partial shading.
The plant forms a dense and fine-leaved stand. Such a cover structure provides resistance to regular mowing, and also contributes to the suppression of moss and weed growth.
