The variety belongs to the octoploid type of Festuca rubra L. ssp. rubra and has 56 chromosomes. It is characterized by the presence of strong underground shoots-rhizomes, which allows the plant to form dense sod and effectively fill gaps in the grass stand.
Traditionally, the variety was used in grass mixtures for creating ornamental and sports lawns. During long-term observations, its low degree of susceptibility to Fusarium under natural infection was noted.
