The plant is a dwarf shrub 0.5–1.2 m in height and up to 1.5 m in width. It has deciduous green leaves of oblong-oval shape.
Flowering occurs in the period from February to April. The variety possesses winter hardiness down to -15°C and is suitable for cultivation in containers, rock gardens, and small gardens.
