The variety has a compact habit, with a plant height of about 15 cm. The berries are distinguished by a deep dark red color on the outside and inside. The plant exhibited relative resistance to adverse weather conditions during the flowering period.
During the 1940s to early 1950s, the variety was widely used in commercial production and breeding programs, becoming a parent form for many European varieties. Currently, the variety is of historical interest and is found mainly in collections.
