The variety belongs to the short-day type and was intended for intensive cultivation. The berries of the variety possess commercial qualities, however, it is inferior to modern varieties in terms of fruit firmness, size, and transportability.
The plant is susceptible to Verticillium wilt and prone to a physiological disorder in the form of leaf chlorosis (June Yellows). In breeding programs, the variety often serves as a standard for assessing yield and product quality when compared with new breeding achievements.
