The plant forms compact cushion-shaped bushes 15–25 cm in height. Flowering continues from April to September; the flowers are cup-shaped with a dark center and characteristic dark veins on the petals.
The variety prefers well-drained soil and a sunny or semi-shaded location, and possesses winter hardiness. It is used in landscape design for decorating rock gardens, slopes, containers, and the foreground of borders.
