The Canberra variety was bred by the Errey company in Australia. In literature from the early 1930s, it is described as a plant with vigorous growth, forming large yellow flowers with ruffled petals.
In some studies dedicated to gladiolus cultivation under specific climatic conditions, this variety is classified as a miniature variety. A characteristic feature of the inflorescence is the ability to open eight or more flowers simultaneously.
