The «Mademoiselle de Paris» variety is a large-flowered gladiolus reaching a height of 70–150 cm. Its flowers have a scarlet-red hue and a silvery-white throat. The plant blooms from July to September for three weeks, lacks winter hardiness, and requires annual lifting for the winter.
The Russian variety «Париж-Париж» has the code 576-РС, which indicates a very large flower size (over 14 cm) and an early-mid-season flowering period. In professional registries, a variety simply named «Paris» is not registered; this name is used as a commercial simplification.
