The variety is the result of breeding aimed at improving fiber performance and productivity without the use of GMOs. Development of this hybrid series has been ongoing since the mid-1990s.

Interspecific hybrids of this series are characterized by a fiber yield of 18–21 c/ha and a gin turnout in the range of 40–44%.
