The Siv-On (cv. Siv'on) variety is an inbred cotton line used in genetic and physiological research. Scientific studies primarily focus on its adaptation mechanisms, including photosynthetic response and stomatal conductance under moisture deficit, as well as resistance to pests, particularly whitefly.

In publications, the plant characteristics are provided in a comparative context for the analysis of fiber structure and stress tolerance mechanisms.
