The variety belongs to the early-maturing group and was adapted for cultivation in the northern regions of Greece, such as Macedonia and Thrace. It is characterized by medium fiber length and was historically used in commercial cotton production.
The variety is susceptible to Verticillium wilt and often served as a standard in comparative genetic and breeding studies. Currently, the variety has been displaced from modern commercial cultivation by newer breeding lines.
