The Hersi variety is a commercial cotton used in research on the impact of agronomic practices, specifically irrigation regimes and row spacing, on yield, maturity dates, and seed quality. The variety is grown in Mediterranean conditions.

Fiber characteristics of the variety include a length of 26.5–30.0 mm, strength of 30–31 g/tex, and a micronaire value of 4.1–4.2. Detailed morphological descriptions and information on resistance to diseases or lodging are absent in open sources.
