The cotton variety «Nataliya» was developed in Bulgaria by breeders Stoilova and Saldzhiev. The main goal of breeding this variety was the improvement of fiber quality characteristics.

In scientific and technical publications, the variety is mentioned in the context of analyzing combining ability during interspecific crosses between G. hirsutum and G. barbadense. Detailed morphological descriptions, information on maturity dates and disease resistance are absent in open sources.
