The plant forms a dense, wide rosette approximately 30 cm high and up to 74 cm in diameter. Large heart-shaped palmate-lobed leaves reach 16 cm in width and length. Young leaves have a deep red color, which darkens to a mahogany shade with age; the leaf surface is distinctly wrinkled.

Wine-colored flower stalks reach 74 cm in length. The flowering period occurs from late spring to mid-summer. Small bell-shaped flowers are cream-white with bright pink calyces. The variety is an evergreen perennial, characterized by high growth vigor, and is used in landscape gardening.
