Variety description

The variety is a hybrid of Hibiscus moscheutos and Hibiscus coccineus. The plant dies back to the soil level annually for the winter. The bush reaches a height of 75–120 cm and a width of 60–90 cm. The leaves are dark green, glossy, and palmate in shape.

The flowers are velvety, a rich burgundy-red color with a dark eye and wavy petals. The variety prefers sunny locations with moist fertile soil and tolerates frosts down to -34 °C well. Used in ornamental gardening as a specimen plant, in group plantings, and container cultivation.
