The variety is the result of crossing ALPHA, DURRA, and I265 lines, selected from F2 lines with the participation of the ICARDA organization. It is adapted to the climatic conditions of Spain with insufficient or unstable moisture levels.

The plant belongs to the two-row barley type and is early-maturing. Grain quality is defined as having medium specific weight and high protein content. The variety can be used for malting purposes.
