The variety was created in 1982 by crossing breeding line 2781-7 with the Dutch variety Effendi. Plants reach a height of 70–72 cm and possess high resistance to lodging, rated at 9 points.
The variety is resistant to loose smut and the causal agent of net blotch. Grain yield is 7.0–7.5 t/ha, thousand kernel weight varies from 48 to 52 g, and test weight is 660 g/l. Crude protein content is 11.5–13.0%, and starch content is 58.2%.
The grain is suitable for food use. The variety is also used in scientific research related to anther culture for obtaining doubled haploids and studying resistance to stress factors, including aluminum toxicity.
