Variety description

10 August 2026

The variety belongs to spring barley forms. In scientific research, it often serves as a reference sample when studying the genetics of semi-dwarfism, evaluating lodging, and analyzing the biochemical composition of grain.

In laboratory work, a high content of phytates in the grain is noted, and studies on the activity of polyphenol oxidase in the malt and grain of this variety have also been conducted. Historically, the variety is mentioned in 1970s literature in the context of studying resistance to Rhynchosporium.
