The variety is a winter form of barley and belongs to the hulled types. In the breeding process, it was developed as a result of the hybridization of the parent lines FIOR 5186 and Naturel with the participation of Italian research organizations.
In scientific literature, the variety is used as experimental material for studying the mechanisms of winter hardiness and resistance to deacclimation, as well as in the analysis of the genetic diversity of European barley varieties.
