Information that the Carlota variety was bred by the company Saatzucht Josef Breun is not supported by official sources or the variety portfolio of this breeding company. The confusion in the variety's attribution may be related to the presence in scientific literature of mentions of researcher Maria Carlota Vaz Patto, who works in cereal genetics.
