The variety belongs to malting types whose grain possesses high diastatic power that facilitates starch degradation. During its introduction in the 1990s, the yield index of the variety was 102 relative to the British standard accepted at that time.
The plant has low resistance to Rhynchosporium. At present, the variety is considered obsolete and does not have wide commercial distribution.
