The spring barley variety Delta was used as a fodder crop. Test reports from the 1980s noted its high yield for feed purposes in comparison with other varieties of that time.

The plant possessed reduced lodging resistance due to a rather weak straw. Currently, the variety is considered obsolete and is not included in modern commercial seed catalogs.
