The variety was obtained by intraspecific hybridization of the Astoria and Ratnik varieties. The plant is of medium height, about 84 cm, and has a semi-erect bush. The ear is two-rowed, lax, cylindrical in shape, straw-yellow in color, with long awns.
The grain is large, semi-rounded in shape, with a thousand kernel weight of 46–52 g. The protein content in the grain varies from 11.1 to 15.1%. The variety is suitable for food, malting purposes, and for use as feed grain.
The variety possesses resistance to powdery mildew, root rots, and stem rust, and is moderately resistant to covered smut. Under field conditions, it is slightly affected by brown rust and spot blotch.
