Hordeum vulgare L. Barley · Agricultural · bred by Wiklund, Kjell

also searched as: гунилла

Variety description

10 August 2026

The variety is a complex hybrid whose genealogy traces back to the 44/3 mutant derived from the Gull variety in 1939. Both six-row and two-row barley varieties were used in the breeding process, with the final type stabilizing the mutant characteristics.

Gunilla is a fodder and grain variety typical of Northern European breeding programs in the second half of the 20th century. It was used in breeding to create new varieties, such as Pernilla. Research on morphological traits included analysis of straw quality, specifically its lignin content.
