The variety was obtained as a result of crossing the varieties Henley and Sebastian using the pedigree selection method with selection for yield, resistance to diseases and lodging, as well as malting quality.
The plant belongs to the spring group. The main distinguishing feature is resistance to powdery mildew, provided by the mlo gene. The variety is intended for use in malt production for the brewing industry.
