The variety is a spring two-row barley obtained by crossing lines HE-4436 and CE-431. Plants are characterized by a low to medium-high height. The grain is large and distinguished by good uniformity, with the fraction larger than 2.5 mm accounting for about 88%.

The variety possesses high resistance to a wide spectrum of fungal diseases, including powdery mildew, barley leaf rust, net blotch and spot blotch. Resistance to powdery mildew is provided by the presence of the mlo gene. Resistance to lodging is rated as good; high stem strength against breakage after over-ripening is also noted.
