The variety is a winter two-row barley bred at the Institute of Agriculture in Karnobat. It is classified as malting and is used in Bulgarian breeding.
In comparative studies, the variety showed low grain yield indicators and the lowest thousand kernel weight among the samples. Medium to high sensitivity to Pyrenophora teres leaf spot and high sensitivity to the chemical mutagen sodium azide are noted.
