The variety is hulless, which allows for its use in food applications without a preliminary dehulling process. The grain of this variety possesses a higher content of nutrients compared to traditional hulled barley varieties.

Work on creating the variety was aimed at achieving stable yield and resistance to seed-borne diseases in the conditions of the Baltic climate and organic farming. Detailed morphological characteristics, such as plant height or exact maturity groups, are not detailed in the publications.
