The Leibniz variety is a six-row winter barley with a long stem. When grown, moderate resistance to lodging and a tendency toward straw breakage are noted.
The plant is moderately resistant to powdery mildew, possesses good resistance to leaf scald and net blotch, but shows high susceptibility to brown rust. The grain has moderate quality indicators and an acceptable test weight. The variety was obtained by crossing (LP 6-936 X BCym 5).
