The Lyric variety is a six-row winter barley. Studies note its long growing season and susceptibility to powdery mildew and stripe rust in comparison with resistant local varieties.
The plant has average thousand kernel weight values and a low percentage of husk content. Due to its characteristics, the variety has been used in breeding programs as a parental line for improving grain quality and forming hybrids.
