Variety description

10 August 2026

The variety is a semi-dwarf plant type with a height of about 69.2 cm. The genetic characteristics of its stem architecture contribute to increased resistance to lodging. The variety is susceptible to leaf scald (Rhynchosporium secalis) and is frequently used as a subject in phytopathological research.

In agronomic studies, the variety demonstrates a high capacity for nitrogen and dry matter accumulation in grain when fertilizers are applied. In scientific publications, Maris Mink is known as a model organism for studying nitrogen metabolism and as a carrier of sdw1 gene alleles, which determine stem height.
