The barley variety Nevada (Hordeum vulgare L.) was first mentioned in publications in the mid-1980s as a winter crop. The variety also appears in Secobra breeding lists as a malting spring barley.
The plant belongs to the feed (fodder) type. It possesses moderately strong straw and a moderately early maturity period. During historical trials, it demonstrated yields at or slightly above standard varieties of that period and was characterized by good overall disease resistance with moderate resistance to powdery mildew.
