The spring barley variety Olympus was intended for use in the production of malt and grain alcohol. The plant stem height is approximately 74 cm. The variety possesses resistance to powdery mildew, rust, and rhynchosporium, as well as lodging resistance comparable to the variety Belgravia.
The grain is characterized by a high test weight and a low content of fine fraction. Since 2020, the variety is not included in current lists of recommended cereal crops and has been excluded from official variety trials and commercial lines.
