A spring barley variety of Latvian breeding. It possesses good lodging resistance and productivity, and the grain is distinguished by its large size. The vegetation period of the variety is longer than that of a number of other varieties.
The variety is susceptible to loose smut and certain leaf diseases. Currently, it is more often mentioned as a genetic base and source material for the breeding of more modern barley varieties.
