The spring barley variety Steina is characterized as a malting type. In breeding work and genetic research, it has often been used as a parent form or a standard for studying malt quality traits and disease resistance.
The variety was used to create experimental populations, in particular doubled haploid lines derived from crosses with the variety Alexis. Steina is also included in the genealogy of a number of later breeding varieties.
1 jurisdiction
Green indicates countries where the variety is listed in the national catalogue and its seeds are authorized for sale. Expired registrations are marked separately: the variety was previously admitted, but sale is no longer permitted.
The right is granted for a limited term: propagation of the variety requires a license from the rights holder.
