The SY Splendor barley variety is characterized by a medium plant height of approximately 72 cm. The plants possess a strong stem and high resistance to lodging and ear brittleness.
The disease resistance profile includes high resistance to powdery mildew, average indicators for rhynchosporium, and a pronounced susceptibility to brown rust. The grain is large, with a test weight of more than 68 kg/hl and a low content of fine fractions.
The variety was originally created for the brewing industry but was later reoriented toward feed use. Due to vigorous growth in the early stages, the variety effectively competes with grass weeds in the fields.
