The variety was obtained by crossing the varieties Quench and Tophouse. The plant has a two-row ear of medium density, parallel shape, with long awns. The variety is distinguished by large grain and high straw yield.
The plant showed good resistance to major cereal diseases and a strong culm that prevents lodging. It was used in the brewing, malting, and spirits industries.
