Triangel is a spring barley variety with a two-row ear. In genetic collections, the plant height of this variety is classified as small, however, this trait can vary depending on growing conditions. The variety has a late tendency for early growth, and lodging resistance is assessed in a wide range from high to low.

The thousand kernel weight of this variety can range from 27–32 g to 51–55 g. The variety is used as breeding material and is the subject of scientific publications devoted to the study of plant physiology, in particular, the study of chlorophyll accumulation in seedlings and the effect of cadmium on the photosynthetic apparatus.
